How We Work

The CSA programs are clustered into four main areas headed by program heads namely Reproductive Health, gender and HIV/AIDS, Social Policy, Advocacy and Networking, Research and Publications and  Capacity building – Supporting Service delivery through training. Several projects are currently being implemented under this program clusters.

Under this cluster CSA implements

  • A Computer based SRHR Sexuality Education project called the ‘World starts with me’ (Supported by Rutgers) in Kisumu and Nairobi.
  • The Sexuality education initiative through the youth for youth project (Supported by Simavi) in Bungoma county
  • Increasing contraceptive uptake and strengthening the capacity of partners and stakeholders to provide comprehensive SRH information and services to young people in 4 districts in western Kenya

Additionally, the centre provides support to Civil Society Organizations by increasing their capacity to develop and implement evidence-based and rights-based programs

Under this component and In order to contribute towards improved policy context for implementation and realization of SRHR in Kenya, CSA has been involved in the implementation of several advocacy and policy improvement projects.

Based on data collected from the Y4Y project, two journal publications were done in collaboration with Staff from the University of California at Los Angeles published in the June 2012 special edition of the African journal of reproductive health. A list of other old publications and documents can be accessed on the CSA website.
